Your name and phone number is available to any Police or Animal Control Agency in the United States through our national toll free number, if they should find your lost pet. The Pet Owners Alliance is directly associated with all of the Animal Control Agencies in Florida, and we are active members of the National Animal Control Association. PROTECTION AGAINST THEFT.... Pet theft is a multi-million dollar business and shows no signs of slowing up. Dogs and cats are sold for dog fighting bait, Santeria sacrifice, breeding purposes at puppy mills, and for Biological Research. Your pet could be worth $250 or more in any of these markets - but it is worth ZERO if it is wearing a registered tattoo. The registered Tattoo is of the same value to Police Officers as the serial number on your car - and possession of a dog or cat bearing a Tattoo that is registered to another person, can lead to a felony charge of Grand Theft. LEGAL OWNERSHIP... Pet owners are shocked to learn that the finder of the lost pet can keep it if the owner cannot show the Court legal proof of ownership such as X-rays or birth defects. With a registered Tattoo, the issue would never get to court. EXPERT HELP... If your pet becomes lost, immediately call our national toll free number - No Matter Where You Are in the U.S. or Canada. We take over from there calling all Police and Animal Control agencies in the area giving them your pets registration information. We also Fax you a special poster to fill out and distribute. KENNEL RESCUE...If you and your pet are in a car accident or for any other reason you are unable to let us know that the pet is loose, when your pet is found and the tattoo/chip is reported to us - we arrange to have the pet transported to a Veterinary Clinic and held until we can locate you.
