FUNDING
The Alliance is not financially supported by any Government or private agency. We are all volunteers and in times of disaster, our costs skyrocket. Our telephone costs alone in the weeks following Hurricane Andrew reached almost $7000.00. Transportation costs, storage of food, Veterinary and kennel bills added another $12,000.00. Incoming donations totalled only $3700.00, leaving us to personally pick up the tab. Nevertheless, we do not charge storm victims our regular $25 fee for the computer search unless they want us to go beyond the basic search and onto local BBS services and the Internet. We can also send them a packet of valuable search posters. |
