FUNDING
The Alliance is not financially supported by any Government or private agency. We are all volunteers and in times of disaster, our costs skyrocket. Our telephone costs alone in the weeks following Hurricane Andrew were enormous. Transportation costs, storage of food, Veterinary and kennel bills added another $26,000.00. Nevertheless, we do not charge storm victims our regular $25 fee for the computer search unless they want us to go beyond the basic search and onto local websites and the Internet. We can also send them a packet of valuable search posters. |
